Who can apply to be a Mentee?
The program is open to all IIT Alumni living in Greater New York Area and TiE Tri-State members. The program requires meeting with Mentor face-to-face on a monthly basis and therefore is restricted to those who live in NY, NJ and Connecticut.

What topics are covered in Mentorship?
The program’s goal to provide mentorship in a broad set of areas including personal development, entrepreneurship, industry / domain expertise development and other areas of professional interest. The mentors participating in this program, besides having a deep knowledge of their respective industries, also have tremendous functional, inter-personal, management and leadership skills. We encourage applicants to this program to take advantage of all facets of mentorship available through the Mentor’s.

How does it work?

  • The program is available through a 4 month Mentorship Engagement during which each Mentor accepts two to three mentees for one-on-one mentorship.
  • About a month prior to the start of each Mentorship Engagement we start accepting applications (please check website regularly for specific dates) for mentees. Those interested in participating in the program submit an application by the deadline.
  • Each application is then reviewed by a Mentee Application Committee (MAC) which seeks to identify those applicants who have a well thought need, a defined goal and a commitment to learn.
  • The Mentee Application Committee recommends those who are accepted to participate in the program. Each accepted applicant is then assigned a Program Coordinator (PC).
  • The Program Coordinators (PC) act as your first point of contact. They facilitate the introduction to the Mentor and guide you through the process.
  • Once the Mentorship Engagement (ME) starts your mentor and you will arrange to meet for 1 Hour, one-on-one once a month for 4 months.
  • At the end of the Mentorship Engagement your Program Coordinator will arrange for review and feedback.

Does it cost to apply?
There is no cost to apply to the program. However, we strongly encourage those who are accepted in the program to make a small contribution to sustain the program.
