Mentor’s Circle is a joint effort by Pan IIT Alumni Association of Greater New York (IIT-GNY) and TiE Tri-State to provide its respective members an opportunity to interact and learn from the rich community of senior alumni and charter members. The two organizations have a long history of working together in the New York area as well as across the globe. The close working relationship is a reflection of the shared goals of the two organizations and the common history of its respective membership.

The program builds upon the foundation established by a series of mentorship events co-hosted by IIT-GNY and Tri-State during 2004/05 which attracted over 600 IIT Alumni and TiE members who came to seek mentorship by over 25 Senior Alumni and Charter members that participated in those events. The events provided for the first time an opportunity for alumni/members to interact with these Mentor’s face-to-face. However, these events were more general in scope and did not provide one-on-one mentorship on a longer consistent basis.

Mentor’s Circle greatly enhances the quality of the Mentorship by creating a program which offers One-on-One mentorship with a Senior IIT Alumni or TiE Charter member over a four month duration. This provides an opportunity to establish a relationship with the mentor, receive mentorship on issues tailored to your needs and obtain a deeper dive into those issues which we believe will result in a richer mentorship experience.

About TiE Tri-State:

TIE – A not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of entrepreneurship, was started in Silicon Valley in 1992. Twelve years later, TIE is a global organization with over 45 chapters and 10,000 members worldwide. TIE Tri-State, initially known as TIE New York, was launched in 1998 under the guidance of Dr. Purnendu Chatterjee, Chairman, The Chatterjee Group. In June 2001, the name was changed to TIE Tri-State to reflect the chapter’s true geographic reach. Today, through the committed support of the chapter President, Parag Saxena, CEO Vendanta and our distinguished group of members, TIE Tri-State has grown to over 500 members.

During the last year TiE Tri-State has had several events, more than one per month on average, which have proved to be very popular, drawing an attendance often exceeding the capacity of the event. In 2007 we expect to have 15-18 events distributed amongst various locations in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut that focus on topics in Healthcare, IT, Telecommunications, Financial Services etc.

A small, select group from the general body of our membership is invited to become Charter Members. These individuals are highly successful entrepreneurs or senior corporate executives serve as mentors and advisors to upcoming entrepreneurs.
