IIT-GNY and TiE Tri-State are happy to announce the start of another session of the Mentor’s Circle Mentorship program. We are accepting applications now so if you are interested in mentoring please apply.

As you already know, Mentor’s Circle was launched in November 2008 to serve the Mentorship needs of the thousands of IIT Alumni and TiE members in the Greater NY area. The inaugural session which started on November 1st, 2008 was a huge success and attracted over 80 applicants from a wide range of industries such as finance, technology, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing. After a rigorous review process 30 candidates were accepted to participate in the inaugural session. These candidates got an opportunity to interact one-on-one, over a period 4 months, with their respective mentor. Each candidate benefited tremendously from the one-on-one interaction and the feedback we have received is extremely positive. Therefore, we are enthusiastically moving forward with the next session.

Program Mission

Mentor’s Circle is geared to serve the mentorship needs of over 3000 IIT alumni and 1000 TiE member in the greater New York area. It provides one-on-one mentoring by senior IIT Alumni and TiE Charter Members who have volunteered to devote a portion of their time every month to provide guidance and share their experiences with IIT Alumni and TiE members seeking professional and personal development.

The program has recruited several senior mentors from a variety of industries who bring with them a successful track record of managing businesses, launching companies and succeeding in highly visible leadership roles. The program’s goal to provide mentorship in a broad set of areas including personal development, entrepreneurship, industry / domain expertise development and other areas of professional interest.

The program is conducted in segments of 4 months each during which the mentees receive an opportunity to meet with their mentor’s one-on-one once a month. Participation in the program is determined though an application process which seeks to accept those who have a well thought need, a defined goal and commitment to learn.
